Colophon

How this site is built, and the rules it holds itself to.

Stack

• Built with Astro as static HTML, with content written in Markdown.
• Hand-written CSS, no framework. Hosted on Cloudflare Pages.
• Body text is set in Newsreader, served from this domain. Everything else uses your system's sans-serif.

Performance budget

• Text pages ship no JavaScript beyond a tiny theme toggle.
• No page loads more than 50KB of JavaScript before you interact with it.
• Videos are a static image until you press play. Nothing from YouTube loads before that.
• No layout shift: every image has its dimensions set.

Accessibility

The site aims for WCAG AA in both light and dark themes, works with a keyboard alone, and respects reduced-motion settings. If something doesn't work for you, please tell me.

Privacy
